As the name suggests, a pressure washer works by ejecting highly pressurized water on a surface. It definitely cleans well. When it comes to a roof, however, the barrier system is not designed to take on this type of pressure. While you will clean dirt and debris off of the roof, you’ll also be negatively impacting the materials under the shingles or exterior of the roof. The adhesives are not designed to take such pressure and will crack. Heck, you might even see shingles fly off the roof. To clean your roof, just use a broom or regular hose.
